Bio

Jessica Daugherty serves as head volleyball coach at Lincoln Trail College, bringing more than 20 years of coaching experience and a strong connection to the region to the Lady Statesmen program.

Daugherty began her coaching career at the college level, serving as head volleyball coach at Lake Land College from 2004-09. During her time there, she coordinated recruiting efforts, oversaw NJCAA compliance, managed team travel and budgets, and monitored the academic progress of student-athletes. Her honors include induction into the Lake Land College Athletic Hall of Fame and recognition as Region Coach of the Year.

Before arriving at Lincoln Trail, Daugherty spent six seasons as head varsity volleyball coach at Casey-Westfield High School, where she developed training programs, led daily practices, evaluated player performance and worked with student-athletes to build skills, strategy and teamwork.

Daugherty’s coaching philosophy centers on creating a strong team culture on and off the court. She emphasizes unity, accountability and academic success, with the goal of helping student-athletes grow as players, students and teammates.

On the court, Daugherty’s teams are built around energy, effort and a fast-paced style of play. She expects her teams to compete with high intensity, play strong defensively and never give up on a ball.

A native of the region, Daugherty said returning to the college level at Lincoln Trail is a full-circle moment in her career. In addition to coaching volleyball, she also serves the college as Enrollment Management Coordinator.

Daugherty earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Southeast Missouri State University and an MBA in Business Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix.
