Richardson Achieves National Rankings in Women's Basketball

Lincoln Trail College is thrilled to celebrate sophomore guard Laniya Richardson's remarkable accomplishments on the basketball court this season. Richardson has earned national recognition with outstanding rankings that highlight her exceptional talent, work ethic, and leadership.

Richardson has cemented her place among the nation's elite players with the following accomplishments:

• Ranked 1st in total points scored
• Ranked 1st in points per game
• Ranked 2nd in total field goals made
• Ranked 8th in total steals

Interim Head Coach Tana Coleman praised Richardson for her dedication and ability to elevate her performance under pressure. "Niyah spends a lot of time working out on her own. She watches a lot of basketball and is always asking questions to get a better understanding of what we want from her as a coaching staff," said Coach Coleman.

Richardson's adaptability and understanding of the game have also been key to her success. "Niyah came into our program ready to play. She has taken to our offense and used her skill to maximize the effectiveness of our actions," Coleman added.

Despite occasional challenges, Richardson's resilience and determination have set her apart. "Niyah has had a few rough games, but even when she is struggling, she finds a way to score. Every game, our opponents know she is our go-to scorer, and she draws the eye of every defender," noted Coleman.

Richardson's incredible performance has drawn interest from high-level programs across the country, underscoring her potential for continued success. "Niyah has gained a lot of interest from high-level programs. I know she will find success in whatever program she decides fits her best," said Coleman.
