Statesmen Defeat Lewis and Clark
The men's soccer team came out Sunday with a huge 2-1 victory against Lewis Clark, which is part of our NJCAA region. After a tough loss against ICC on Thursday, the men bounced back quickly. The Statesmen started the game trying to play in their known style of soccer. Trying to build from the back with short passes while the opponent was pressing high. Unfortunately, after a foul, Lewis Clark scored in the 24:40 minute. Lincoln Trail didn't let this affect them and after a rebound of the keeper, Leonardo Sanches equalized the game at the end of the first half. The second half was a battle, the Statesmen lost a player due a red card in the beginning of the second half. However, even with the adversity, Guilherme Melchiori scored the second goal, which led Lincoln Trail college to the victory. Now, the Statesmen prepare for the game against Parkland on Wednesday at Statesmen Park.
